Statement:
I greatly value my role in training young minds to think critically and to communicate their ideas clearly and effectively. I think philosophy education has a critical role to play in democratic institutions: in particular, an education in philosophy can improve skills in public discourse and critical thought. I strive for inclusivity in my classrooms. I think the integration of diverse perspectives is not only a moral but also an epistemic imperative --- I think the best way to learn is to interact with people who don't think like you. I strive for a teaching pedagogy that enables all different kinds of voices to be found and heard.
